Our Story
The past few years have given us pause to reflect upon how we create, research, and teach music in light of the systemic injustices that we inherited from our colonial past, and the ongoing occupation of Indigenous, Inuit, Métis, and First Nations lands.
Conference Theme
We chose a theme that would encourage us to look toward a brighter future for all Canadians. We encourage music scholars, performers, theorists, and educators alike to present work that not only considers the past, but reimagines the role that musicking can play in shaping a more just world.
